Millions of people in the whole world are striving hard to become successful. Countless people suffer from tension, stress and strokes. But when they become successful, it goes to their head. They become swollen- headed and self centered. They think they are at the centre of the universe and that the whole world revolves around them.
A person devoted to his duties never thinks of being inactive and he never curses his luck or fortune, nor does he complain of his limitations and insufficient means. He knows very well that making complaints is against the law of progress. He accepts himself as such and tries to make maximum use of his means and resources.
Addressing a function, Pt. JawaharLal Nehru once said, “Only the unfortunate ones curse their luck and have a heaps of complaints to make”. One who is determined to do his/her duty neither thinks of the possible obstacles and privations on the way, nor he /she has any fear about them. A hardworking person knows that in order to become successful, one’s desire of becoming successful should always be greater than his fear of failure. The fruits of devoted duty are not confined to the doer only; they influence much wider horizon.
It is said that only that nation can prospers and progresses whose citizen do their respective duties with full devotion. Success and hard work have always gone hand in hand.HARDWORK and nothing but hard work is the secret of success. Like any genius everyone is born with a brain and nervous system of vast potential.
However, the difference between the genius and an ordinary man is that of utilizing the potential. A genius uses his abilities to the full whereas the ordinary man fritters them away in sloth and amusement.Hograth says, “I know no such thing is genius; it is nothing but labour and diligence.” Thus, the secret of success is buried in hard work……..the unfailing talisman of the achiever. India’s first noble laureate Rabindranath Tagore had once said: “you can’t cross a sea by merely staring into the water.”
There is no doubt about this saying. It sends a wonderful message to all of us. Always try to feel good about yourself because when you feel good about yourself, you stand better chances of becoming what you want to become. Never think you lack potential or lack the energy to achieve a thing. Set goal in your life and work hard. Aim and determination also give your life direction so that it does not wonder aimlessly like a rudderless boat. An aimless boat ride may be fine for a lazy evening at a nearby lake, but no navigator can afford to sail without a direction if he wants to reach the right shore. So think properly before you decide what you want from life.
Remain relaxed and cope with tension as you work harder and harder. Always remember one thing that intelligent people are the best managers of time. So utilize your time in a proper way. Patience is essential for success in any field; it is the patience that turns the mulberry leaf into silk. Suppose we sit to solve a mathematical problem .we fail in ten efforts, but succeed in the eleventh one.
How happy we feel! At that time we forget all about our surroundings and even those ten efforts in which we had to meet failure. Once you have set your face in the right direction, success is certain. At last I want to conclude the topic by the beautiful quotation of Leo Buscagha, he says, “OUR TALENTS ARE THE GIFTS THAT GOD GIVES US, WHAT WE MAKE THE USE OF OUR TALENT IS OUR GIFT BACK TO GOD.”
